In Sanskrit, Trinetra means « third
eye », the eye which sees what is concealed. Trinetra offers
to make you discover
those hidden aspects of Nepal, our country, and its culture,
through a whole variety of trekking routes, tested by an
experienced team.
Founded in 1997, the agency is run by
Sunar and Harka Gurung (cf
the Gurungs). Our ambition is to bring you
our serious and experience and a little bit more than the
usual “basic” service
All your
guides, assistant guides, cooks, assistant cooks and porters
are reasonably well paid. Their salaries and the weights
they can carry are decided according to a chart established
by their trade union (All Nepal Federation of Trade Union).
They all have insurance and the necessary gear for altitude
(jackets, trekking boots, and appropriate sunglasses).
For Trinetra,
humanitarian action and eco-tourism are not selling points.
We work with an association (cf Les Amis de Laprak). And we
believe it is every agency’s duty to respect the environment
and the local populations.
Trinetra is
a 100%-Nepalese agency. When you talk about local people,
you talk about our team.
