Sunar BAHADUR GURUNG, Managing Director.

I was born in Laprak (district of Gorkha) in 1971 when I was shepherd until the 20 years age. I started in the trekking in 1991 like carrier.
I quickly became guide, specialized in the sporting circuits (trekking, VTT) for French agencies like the UCPA, Club Ventures… In 1997 I created Trinetra-Adventure with six friends. Since 2005 with my Harka brother we are the only owners.

Since 1994, supported by French friends, I come to France every year to follow training courses of alpinism and climbing (with the Alpine Club, the FFME then with the CRET of Briançon and the ENSA of Chamonix). In 2003 I made a success of the probatory one of candidate guides with the ENSA of Chamonix and in August 2005 I made a success of the examination of candidate guides. To help me to carry out this dream to be guide of high mountain UIAGM my friends created association Namasté Himal.

In June 2008, I finally carried out my dream “to become graduate guide of high mountain of the UIAGM”.
I speak Népali, the English, the Hindi and French.
My work and my passion for the mountain leave me a little time
to occupy me of my big family. I am married with Lalamaya and I have three children, Suké, Bismaya and Rashi. (To click on the photograph on the right)

Trinetra exists since 1997 and is recognized as a serious agency thanks to the work of a motivated, professional and convivial team.
Our guides, cooks and carriers are for the majority of Gurung ethnos group of the village of Laprak and the area of Manaslu. You will find in them attentive and enjoués assistances which will make your trek one unforgettable moment

Harka BAHADUR GURUNG (frère de Sunar), Executive Director.

I was born in 1975. While Sunar was in Laprak, I followed our father
who was soldier in the Indian army. In 1993, after 10 years of studies
I obtained the SLC (School Leaving Certificate) at the school Balkumari Secondary School (Narayanghat, Chitwan). This diploma is the equivalent of the baccalaureat.
From 1993 to 1995 I made studies of trade at the university of Katmandu
and parallel to my studies I worked as salesman in a studio
photographs of 1994 to 1995 like technico commercial in a food agro company of 1996 to 1997. I then followed a formation of guide by trekking and I accompanied by the groups on the paths.(turns of Annapurna, Dolpo, Lantang, Mustang…)
Since 2005 I am “executive director” with Trinetra. It is a work very stressing which occupies me much and I regret having less time
to pass with my family.
I speak Népali, the English, the Hindi and French.

I am married with Rama and we have two children (Rakesh and Sudiksha)

Tulsi BHUSAL, Accountant

I was born the first day from the month of baikash of the year 2036 (April 14, 1979)
in Huas a small village of 300 inhabitants (50 houses) in Teraï, with an about sixty kilometers of Pokhara. I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters and I am the third child of the family. After solids studies (level 12),I arrived at Katmandu in 2061 (2004) but in the capital work does not run about the streets. I engaged like carrier of trekking, kitchen servant boy, carrying bricks (unloading of the trucks the night on the building sites).
Then I knew Trinetra by a friend guides. There either there was no work corresponding to my formation and I continued to work like carrier, until the reorganization of the agency which released the post of accountant.

Tulsi speaks always with pleasure about its village of Teraï, of the rhinoceroses which come to eat vegetables of the garden, of the small fisheries of his/her brother (each time it returns from the village it brings back very odorous dried fish which make the treat of all the team).

Desh BAHADUR GURUNG (Kanchha), Guide NMA of high mountain

I was born in Laprak in 2036, on Friday 10 of the month of “asar”.
From four to twelve years I lived on the mountain pastures in the neighbourhoods of the village where I kept the family herd with my big brother As Man Gurung. For all this period, I never went to school. I discovered the world of the trekking like carrier at the sixteen years age and this first experiment deeply marked me.
Since, I learned the népali, English and French.
I surveyed the principal routes of trekking (Kangchenjunga, turn
of Annapurna, Langtang, base Camp of the Everest,…). Gràce with Trinetra,
I followed the training course “BASIC Race” which enabled me to approach the high mountain and the trekking peaks: Mera Peak, Chulu Far East, Chekigo (the small one), Chulu East (truth).
Its kindness, its pugnacity, its incredible energy and its thirst to learn
several friends of Trinetra allured who wished to help it (formation
in France and with Nepal), support for the schooling of his/her children…).

Bimal GURUNG, trekking guide

I was born in Laprak the 15th day from the month from baikash from the year 2029 (i.e. on April 1, 1972). I went to school of the village up to the level three. The life was difficult because my father died when I was three years old.
I initially lived at the village, or I worked with the fields and in the mountain pastures to keep the family herd with my uncle (about fifteen cows,
a score of goats, ten sheep…) Work was hard and I met the bear twice, at only five hours of walk of Laprak.
At the 17 years age, I left Laprak for Katmandu, but I did not find there
of work. I then went in Pokhara, then in Chomrung on the road base camp of Annapurna, where I worked as cook during four years. It was not difficult but in season there was much work (sometimes twenty tourists!) and often I was to work up to two hours of the morning.
After this experiment, I am turned over to Katmandu where I worked in several agencies of trekking, then in Trinetra: I am one of the oldest guides of Trinetra. I treated to myself English courses, then I was likely to accompany Claude like carrier (one of the first customers of Trinetra) who offered to me my training course of guide of trekking.

I am married in Sanio Kanchhi and we have three girls: Surita (9 years in 2008, Alicia (5 years) and Rebecca (4 years). My family lives at the village of Laprak, and I share my time between the village and Katmandu.

Dhan, trekking guide

I was born in Laprak in 2037, the 23 of the month of “Asosh”. I passed my childhood to the village where I was at the school starting from the age from seven years. I arrived at the level of class 10 and this level enabled me to arise to the examination of entry in the “British army”. The selection which lasts several months is pitiless! On the 150 candidates who presented themselves at the same time as me there were of it only 12 of retained. I thus turned to the world of the trekking where I started like simple carrier. As of the first trek (Langtang) I was noticed by a couple of friends of Trinetra (Veronique and Philippe) which wished to give me the chance to develop the potential which they guessed in me.
Within the framework of the total formation of the guides of Trinetra, they financed for me English courses who allowed me to follow the training course of guide of trekking (all the courses are in English).
Today, after several experiments like assistance guides and guides, I became a guide of trekking confirmed with a good experiment on many circuits: Sing the Step, Mustang, Langtang, Manaslu…
At 21 years I married Have Maya Gurung and we have two girls: large, Kali and small, Muna. They live at the village where I find them at the end from each season to work with the fields (culture of potatoes, corn, millet, soja)

Dalé GURUNG, trekking guide

I was born in Laprak the sixth day from the month from asoj from the year 2043 (i.e. on October 16, 1986). I left Laprak at the six years age to follow my father, Man Bahadur, which was guide of trekking in an agency of Katmandu.
In 1999, my father is deceased in an accident of trekking. He fell
with water at the time of the passage of a bridge, in Naya Pool!
The 22 people of the group then decided to deal with my education, which enabled me to follow solids studies in Katmandu (SLC+1). After a few years, I did not have a news of my sponsors any more and to continue my studies, I started to work. I speak usually English, which enabled me to start in 1999 the tekking like “sherpa” and not like carrier like much of my friends.
I am married in Sunita Gurung and we have a son who is called Ashish,
who was born the feastday from Dasaïn in 2006..

Dilé GURUNG, trekking guide

I was born in Laprak the 7 from the month from “Saun” 2043 (August 22, 1986).I studied until my S.L.C with Shree Manikam Devi School, the school of the village of Laprak where I lived with my parents, my 2 brothers and my 3 sisters.
My best memory is to have taken down the best note of the area
of Laprak to the S.L.C and the festival which followed.
Then I came to continue my studies of social sciences and education
in Katmandou, where I am in this moment classifies 12 with the Saraswati college of them of Thamel. I live with my Pure brother-in-law who is also guide with Trinetra.
Since 2005, I work for Trinetra, initially like carrier then cook, finally assistant-guide and now Anglophone guide.
I have two passed: to play of the flute (Basuri or traditional flute), to sing and play volley ball. I take run and I left a first album “Bichhod Huneko” (Separation) with Raju Pariwar which is a popular Népali singer. You will be able to hear me on the paths. I like my work and especially satisfaction to see my customers returning content with the trek.
I aspire to becoming one pillars of Trinetra and wishes to propose my services as long as I of it am able and I hope that so in the future it sometimes .

Tulsi GURUNG, Assistant guide

Pradip, cook

I was born in Machha Khola (a small village close to Laprak) in 2028,
10 of the month of “Asar”.
I started like carrier in 2047 with the trek of the turn of Daulaghiri
that I made with tongs and a cover to protect me from the cold
the night. It was so hard (there were 4 carriers of deaths, carried by
an avalanche) which I thought that I could not make this trade.
I thus stopped the trek during one year, but it is necessary well to work to live… I thus again engaged like carrier for a forwarding
in Tashi Lakpa in 2050.
I work for Trinetra since his creation. I telephone at the beginning of season to know the dates of my groups and I set out again as soon as the season
is finished. Apart from the season, I live in Machha Khola where I hold
small a lodge (just 3 rooms for the Nepaleses of passages) and small “a pasal” (small shop). In summer, I leave on the paths Ladakh.
I am married in Mangala Gurung and we have two girls: Surita (8 years)
and Dhan Maya (4 years).
Ram TAMANG, cook

I was born in 2030 BS the 17 from the month “to manchir”, in Palachok, a small village with 2 kilometers of Katmandu. I learned the trade from cook with my beautiful Gothé brother with whom I started like “kitchen servant boy”.
When I started, I was young, the trade was very hard, but one laughed well! After there were the political problems and one could not make any more
the festival. Now that peace returned I hope that the joy will return.
I am married in Goma Tamang and we have three children: a Sukram son
(10 years), a girl Nirmala (7 years) and a second girl Anta (4 years).
