YOUR THOUSAND AND ONE QUESTIONS….AND THEIR ANSWERS

Since Trinetra exists (1997) one answered thousands and thousands of questions!
It is incredible what you posed to us like questions! Of course one tested
to put
a maximum of answers in the site but finally one said oneself that they would be sympathetic to gather them in a heading to make some profit everyone.

We will answer you always with pleasure and information will not cost you anything!
If you do not find your answer, do not hesitate to contact us. One will answer you directly and we will supplement this heading

Which is the political situation in Nepal?
Can one come in full safety?

It is of course the great question which you always ask us in first! since Trinetra exists (1997)
we always answer you the same thing: come to see
us without hesitation!

Since November 21, 2006 peace was signed between the government and the Maoists. A new constitution was adopted in 2007, and of the general elections must take place in 2008.

Of course the situation develops each day but the tendency is good and one hopes to have convinced
to you to come to spend your holidays to Nepal.
You can count
on us so that your project is a great success!

Which is the good season to come to Nepal?

You believe can be that one will answer you “November October” and “April-May”. And well at all…
Believe in our experiment, you can come to visit our country all the year!
Apart from the great periods of trek we will be able
to organize your holidays with menus with the chart

who will astonish you: traditional festivals in the valley, discovered Buddhist worlds and hindouists (possibilities of making retirements in monasteries), meetings with remarkable characters or simple Nepalese families (night at the inhabitant).

In January-February
the weather is fresh and the large collars are taken
by snows but the sky is blue and with a woolly all will
go well.

In March-April-May and at the beginning of June
it is a very good period for large the treks.
The weather is nice, one sees the mountains,
the rhododendrons are in flowers.

Semi June at semi September
it is monsoon, but it rains but especially the night.
The atmosphere is very particular and the perfect luminosity for the photographs. There are the large
ones and beautiful festivals in the valley.

Semi September at semi November
it is still a very good period for large the treks.

Semi November at the end of December:
Of agreement! the weather is a little cold in December, but it never freezes in Katmandu. Why not a midnight supper in Nepal?

Is Trinetra really an agency 100% Nepalese?

Yes, we all are Nepalese (you can see part of the team on first page of the site). Our large friends Jacqueline and Michel are our voluntary correspondents in France.
Do not hesitate to call them.

Which weight carries a carrier?

It is a question which one very often asks us.
The carriers of Trinetra carry 20 kilos of “useful” load
for the treks in lodges and maximum 30kg for
treks under tent (they carry in more their personal businesses).

That is what that wants to say: “are our carriers well equipped”?

Our carriers often come from our village (Laprak) know We them well and they are often friends of childhood. They do this work because they have a ground short period and some animals at the village but that is not enough to live. They have the means of buying warm clothing for altitude, neither of shoes, nor of good sunglasses.

In Trinetra we have the great chance to have friends
who send clothing of France to us (wind-breakers of ski, gloves, glasses, shoes).
We equip the carriers with this clothing for day's works in altitude and before they are not completely worn
we give them to them.

When you come to Nepal, even if you do not leave with us they would be very sympathetic to transport some clothing.

Why an anglophone guide is less expensive
what a French-speaking guide?

It is like that! It is the law of the market.
In Nepal, the anglophone guide is the “standard” guide.
The French language is a speciality. Trinetra is a small agency and we cannot have in the team of the guides
of all the specialities
and of all the levels. We have especially guide who started like carriers and which progressed while working.
You will be able to communicate in French with them.

We make large efforts for the formation as you will be able to see it while clicking here.

More on our guides, click here.

Does the tips, how it go?

It is also a question which often returns at the end
treks. The tip is of course not obligatory but in general our customers want to directly thank their team in their making a small present.
There is no scale but to give you an idea you can count the one workday price for one working week.

Work with the chart

You often ask us:
“you really work with the chart? For example you can organize me
a stay with 3 days of VTT, one day of rafting, an overflight of the chain in the plane or the montgolfier, a meal at the inhabitant "?.

Yes! It is our trade. Most extremely that one made
it was for our Didouche friend. She had already come

4 times at Nepal and it liked much our country.
She always spoke about it with her friends reprocessed about the postal and telecommunications authorities
and they told him “Didouche agreement! You organize
us 15 days in Nepal but one wants to take a shower every evening in a good hotel, one does not want
to walk,
one wants a good guide which speaks French well”.

Does you known as “all our carriers are assured” How it walk?

Yes, all our carriers are assured, but it is not a personal insurance. One gives to our insurer the number
of carriers which one wants to ensure and afterwards
him the list of the names is given.

What is what is called a “carrying guide”?

We do not propose “guide-carriers”.
It should well be understood that they are two different trades: one cannot ask the same person to carry your luggage and at the same time to speak to you about
the landscape, the tops, the ethnos groups.

If you want to make economies it is better to save
on the standing of the hotel with Katmandu.

End of the trek
is the occasion to have fun the festival and
to give
a tip with all the members of the team.
It is allowed that
it is equal to the one workday price per worked week.

In December 2000,
we organized
“the trek of the Seniors”.
Cultural visit of the valley of Katmandu,
of Pokhara and park
of Chitwan with
a French-speaking guide lecturer.

Can one obtain the visa while arriving
at the airport?

One can obtain his visa while arriving at Tribhuvan Airport (the airport of Katmandu). It is necessary
to think of taking two photographs of identity
and the dollars or the Euros.

We remind to you that your passport must be valid
at least 6 months after the date of your return.

For more information click here.

How I will recognize you at the exit airport?

At the exit of the airport, you will see our guide
with a sign “Trinetra”. Reassure, since 1997 one missed only one customer forever!

Can you reserve the hotel with two euros to us
the night as that which I did see on the “Guide
of routard”?

Not, it is not possible! These hotels do not have
of system of reservation. We can reserve in cheap but serious hotels.

Why you do not reserve the international flight?
Trinetra is a small agency. It is thus with you
to reserve your international flight. But reassure,
it is not complicated. One can provide you the list of the companies which have flights towards Nepal.

IN TREK

One goes how much kilometers per day?

One does not count in kilometers but in hours
of walk. For example, the turn of complete Annapurna, Dumré with Pokara, makes approximately 400 kilometers in 17 days, that is to say an average of 23 kilometers per day.

What is this you call a lodge?

A lodge is a small inn where the trekkeurs can eat and sleep. There are the very comfortable ones, with individual rooms, there is more rustic. Food there is very varied.

Which difference there are between a trek “lodge
in lodge” and a trek “under tent”?

At the beginning of the trekking, there were only treks
“under tent”. Then, on the most attended paths, like
the turn of Annapurna, Langtang, the area
from
the Everest, “lodges were built”.

The environment of the two types of circuits is very different :
- under tent, you will be very close to the Nepalese team (sherpas, cooks) and also closer nature.
- in lodge, you will be more close to the trekkeurs
other groups which you will find the evening
in the common room of the lodge.

But we also have in Trinetra of the unconditional ones
“wild” trek at the inhabitant which leaves right
in the mountain with Juste a guide and a carrier

Food is it very spiced?

The Nepaleses like to eat spiced (“piro”).
But for you do not worry, the kitchen in trek under tent or in lodge is adapted to your tastes.
Of course, if you wish it, ask your cook a small small pepper of the country (“koursani”)..

Is what I will be able to reload the batteries of my digital device?

Yes, no problem in the big cities and in the area
of Annapurna. But it is to better take
with you of the additional batteries, because in altitude they function less better.

Why a trek in lodge is it often less expensive than
a trek under tent?

A trek in lodge is less expensive because all logistics
is simpler (not tents nor of material of kitchen

to carry, little of carriers, not of cooks…)

In trek “under tent”, one can make campfires?
Not! Deforestation is a big problem in Nepal.
The regulation forces the groups to be autonomous
in energy and thus to bring their kerosene.

Why do not eat not all together
with the carriers and guides? They would be more sympathetic.

The rates/rhythms of walk and the stages are very different between the carriers and the trekkeurs. For the treks under tent, the last day we make a great festival with a dal beats for everyone.

Can one give drugs while passing in the villages?

It is necessary to be careful and not to give drugs directly to the villagers, but to give them
with the dispensary (health post). The Nepaleses
are accustomed to drugs much less powerful than those which you will give them. Once you will have left, they will not be able to use them well. For much
of villager
a drug is something of magic. Even if they are not sick they tend to ask some “if”, for later.

Can one make a trek with children?

Yes, look at for example the notebook of voyage
of Charlotte and Ophélie to the “Doors of Mustang”.
This year all the family sets out again for Ladakh.

ALPINISM

The quotation of the tops

It is a great subject! In Europe all tops and all the ways are indexed and one can see their quotations in all the guides. But in Nepal, even the “trekking peaks” do not have quotation recognized by all the climbing ones. There is still much of 6000 meters virgin and one clearly does not know the walk of approach.
In Trinetra one is not stronger than the others and one will not define to us even these quotations!
To have an good idea of these quotations one proposes to you to consult the site Paulo Grobel.

There is it still of the 6000 meters virgin to climb?

102 tops were lately open. It is the competition among the climbing ones to try these first.

For what is used the Korean cord?

It is the fixed cord on which you go up with jumars.

THE TIBET

Why leave with a Nepalese agency to go in Tibet?

It is not possible to pass from Nepal to Tibet into individual. It is obligatorily necessary to pass by
a Nepalese agency.

Can one go in Tibet into individual starting from Katmandu?

Attention the regulation very often changes!
Here what one can say in July 2004.
The tibet is
a “protected area”, and for this reason
it is delivered to you
a special licence to be able to enter in Tibet by the Nepal, which you can obtain only
in Katmandu. Of course, you can obtain a visa for China

in our country, but this Visa is useless to enter in Tibet.
This special licence is a document completely independent of your passport on which can be reproduced a “visa” for several people.

To obtain this special licence one duration maximum
from 25 or 30 days, it is obligatorily necessary
to present
a detailed route. The Chinese Embassy
of Katmandu your visa for the preset exact duration
by this program will deliver.

In Lhassa you will be able to leave the group but not
the city.

Is it to better take along or rent the material
in Katmandu?

One can rent much things with Katmandu but concerning safety (cord, snap hooks) one rather advises you to bring your material. To help you, consult
the hiring page of material.

Have boxes hyperbare?

We rent them each time that is necessary
but it is necessary to hold sufficiently in advance.
You will have an idea of the price by consulting the page
on the hiring of material.

It is possible to rent a radio to communicate between the camps?

Yes, it is possible.

The HUMANITARIAN

The humanitarian is very with the mode in the world of tourism. One sees great agencies today transferring part of their benefit to associations or works. What think about it?

It is very well! Nepal east one of the poorest country of the world and all that can help us is good to take.
But for us, in Trinetra, the humanitarian is not a sales point! One tries to draw some all alone,
without assistance
and sponsors. All our friends and with the customers who ask us how they can help us,
we answer each time:
“The best way of helping us is to make us work and to make work
our guides and our carriers which come from our village. You cannot better help us than while giving us work ".

How to obtain its Visa?

One or two weeks before your departure, we give the photocopy of your passport to the embassy of China with Katmandu, which transmits them to Tibet Tourisme Office with the desired route. After having studied your route and your papers Tibet Tourisme Office returns by fax its authorization for the delivery of the visa by the embassy of China de Katmandu.

Opening days of the embassy of China with Katmandu: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. 9:00 with the 11:00.

Price of the visa for Tibet: 30 US$ and supplement
The humanitarian, ecology or sustainable development
are not, for us, of the sales points.
These are personal engagements that we live through our implication in our trades, but also while taking part
in humanitarian actions, in particular for our village, Laprak.
We are fully associated with the actions
association “Friends of Laprak” and association of the students of the La Rochelle “Veils on Nepal”.
These voluntary engagements mobilize the means
agency and the totality of its personnel.
