SIKKIM
    
Independent kingdom until 1975, the Indian State
of Sikkim, enclosed between Tibet and Bhutan, east
one of the jewels of the Himalayan world. Dominated by
Kangchenjunga, of deep valleys, cut out in cultivated terraces or glazes of an exuberant vegetation where grow wild orchises and arborescent rhododendrons, are boxed between snow-covered tops.
